our trip down south

We decided to get away for a few days and head down to San Antonio. Brooks and I have lived in Texas for almost 5 years now and have never ventured outside of the Dallas area!! Since Blake will be making his appearance in the next few months we thought now would be a great chance to spend some quality time with our little guy.

I didn’t get too many pictures of our day down on the River Walk, but we had fun spending time as a family. We had just arrived after our 5 hour drive and Cole was excited to get out and move around. IMG_5106 copyIMG_5098  We started our afternoon with lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Cole had never been and we thought it would be fun to check it out. Since he LOVES elephants I thought we would score extra points for this location. As you can see….he was terrified of the fake animals.IMG_5114Next up was the Alamo. Cole could care less about the historical facts, but he did love running around the property with daddy’s glasses on! IMG_5135Down on the Riverwalk you can take a boat tour and Cole really wanted to ride on that boat. Like I have said before…Cole has no patience..none what.so.ever!! The tour lasted about 35 minutes and we were cursing ourselves the entire time that we left him talk us into this boat tour. He could not….would not…sit still!! He was trying to compete with the tour guide on who could be loudest. Ya, sooo not fun! The lady next to us just kept laughing. We could not get off that boat fast enough and head to the hotel room for a little rest.IMG_5164We met up with Brooks’ cousin who lives down there for dinner and then ended the evening sitting out on the patio of our hotel eating some chocolate cake and letting Cole just explore and run around. He was exhausted and slept in the next day until 9am!! We were very thankful since we had a big day at Sea World planned!!IMG_5168

Mason was the same way about the Rainforest Cafe. We had to move to the bar area to eat our food.

I die laughing at him screamin his head off with the fake animals. Preston did the same thing. I am still nervous to do Disney. That sleeping pic-almost did a double take thinking that was my son for a minute. They are precious when they sleep.

What a great trip! Sorry to hear that the fake animals freaked Cole out though. Adorable pictures, especially the sweet sleeping pic! It's always a nice surprise when they sleep in.
