slip sliding away

As you know from my prior post, Dallas got pounded with lots of ice and SNOW! Our friends and neighbors, The Whiteheads, thought up the brilliant plan of going sledding down the hills on our golf course! They even went and bought this giant raft that was meant for the pool. Let me tell you how jealous all the other kids out at the hill were!! They were all sliding down on trash can lids and boogie boards. Not us, we were slidin’ in style.

You can’t really tell from the picture, but this hill was pretty intimidating looking. I’m kind of a wuss when it comes to adventurous type things and my oldest child shares my fears. It took a couple of runs down for him to warm up to the idea, but once he went he LOVED it! Blake on the other hand just hung out in his car seat nice and warm for most of the time and then in his daddies arms for the rest. He even crashed out from all of the excitement.IMG_8000 copyIMG_8049 copyI decided to give the ‘ol trash can lid a try and it wasn’t too bad. I mean, I still preferred the soft cushiony raft.IMG_8036IMG_7998 copyIMG_8068

For the last run of the day we moved over to the small hill and let Cole and Landry ride it all alone. It was a beating getting up and down these slippery hills while dragging up the raft with these two little cuties riding along.

IMG_8081 copyLandry and Cole enjoyed going down together. We liked to mix it up. Sometimes it was just me with the kiddos or just one of the daddies, but it was really fun when both mommies took both kiddos and went down together. Not sure what it’s saying about us, but we made that thing fly!!IMG_8059 copy

IMG_8012IMG_8078 copyCole crashed out on the way to lunch and then fell asleep again for another four house! Man, if we could do this everyday I could get great naps out of both of my boys!! I’m not sure what tired Blake out, but he slept the entire time Cole did too!! They sure were beat.IMG_8084

LOVE the cute red cheeks on your boys!Love the swimming pool raft. What a great idea. A swimming pool would be hard to find this time of year in Michigan. Have to buy one this summer and store it away in the hopes that Owen will be able to do some sledding next winter
